Instructors MUST comply with the AHA. Program Administration Manual (PAM). Class advertisements must include the following:

“The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.“

- A smoke-free facility

- A nonresidential facility, unless held in a public common area such as a fitness room of an apartment complex

- A secure facility free from intrusions

- Appropriate heating and air conditioning

- Clean environment and equipment

- Adequate lighting

- Absence of noises, odors, non-participants, and other disturbances/ distractions

Instructors must:

Possess valid (not expired) instructor credentials.

Have performed the appropriate instructor upddate courses and online instructor essentials courses.

Have taught four classes in the last two years.

Be in good standing with the losing TC, AHA, and not be subject to any judicial review.

Schedule a date to have a class monitored and recorded.

**Advanced discipline instructors (ACLS, PALS) must be healthcare providers who possess the scope of practice necessary to perform the skills taught in class.

Instructors must:

Possess valid (not expired) instructor credentials.

*An instructor who lets their credentials lapse will loose access to their instructor profile on Atlas and will lose their eCard balances without refund. Prioritize recertification.

Have performed the appropriate upddate courses.

Have taught four classes in the last two years.

Schedule a date to have a class monitored and recorded.
